This tweak actually made me lose a good 20 FPS

Turning it all to off made it an unplayable lag fest for me - with the options set to YES I'm back to stable framerates.

I started the first Asiatic campaign yesterday. Right now I'm headed to the South China Sea for the third primary mission with 45K tons after a toprp refit....damned duds. Saved file is about 2.3MB with 1.3 and no mods and no .cfg change.

My impressions are the game loads faster, saves about the same, and seems fine in thos respects. Oh yeah, the torp doors are on steroids and the new boat (Salmon) seems to dive faster than a lead brick..

I will try that then... because i loss FPS after patch.

Game was running smooth for me in v1.2, but with v1.3 not.

May be i need to uninstall, defrag and reinstall...

Probably the new patch includes some things that ads load to the system, like Ia, radar...and other things

The file you need to edit is in your INSTALL folder of SH4/data/cfg

Dunno why it caused some folks issues - this was an FYI - if it helps great - if not then change it back.

A lot has been made of the debugging edit since the 1st days of release. As a lot of people do when such great claims are made, I experimented with it on and off trying both ways over several days starting the sim from the same save game position every time and noting the frames in the 1st couple of minutes. I never saw any difference so I no longer bother with it.

I play the download version of of the game unmodded on an AMD DC with 4 gigs ram and 512 meg ATI 1950 graphics. Since my computer is not perforamnce starved as far as published hardware specs for the game, a frame or two one way or another is of no consequence. I have smooth action even in the most demanding clutter.
