What kind of radar is ST, and why would a radar be on the observation periscope?
I just started a new career (1941, Pearl) in a Tambor and picked up an "SD Radar" in the base, but I can't get it to turn on. All my radar screens are blank. Makes me very sad. nomad_delta |

Well, firstly, the early radar you pick up, from what I gather, can not be manned or turned on or off. You will simply notice it detecting aircraft. At least someone said that, don't remember who.
And regarding the ST radar, it would be useful on your periscope because you could use it while submerged at periscope depth without having the risks associated with being fully surfaced and vulnerable.

SD interface isn't implemented. You're crewmen simply give you a report when an aircraft is picked up.
Why wouldn't you want a radar on a periscope? Very accurate ranging, even in heavy seas while staying submerged. PD |
