ill give it a go.is overclocking reversable?
man it shouldnt take all this just to run a game.according to the machine and the game requirements it should run.i wish these things were simpler.im getting tired of computers. ![]() thanks for the advice ![]()

Yes it's reversable. All you are doing is effectively changing values in your bios. Make notes about your changes and if needed you can set them back to the originals. As with all overclocking, urge on the side of caution and progress slowly.
I suspect you are having to do this because your system has autoclocked itself down after a hardware change. That or your hardware is incompatible. ![]()

![]() If you do overclock, the machine may freeze before booting into the bios, if this happens you should have a shorting link on the motherboard to set the bios back to default, otherwise you can remove the small battery, wiat for a half minute then put back in, I have had to do this a couple of times when I pushed the old girl a bit too far!! ![]()

Would it be best to sort my fan out first as i am getting heat related crashes lately i think the fan is on the blink.
is this a likely cause of random crashes-shutdowns? if so wou;ldnt it be best to sort that befor starting overclocking?.

I'd say that's a "no kidding". You need to make sure you have the latest drivers from ATI (for Radeon video cards) or nVidia (for GeForce cards).

can i replace the fan without taking the lid of thwe casing?if not is it an easy operation?
