[TEC] Can't edit/view DDS files? Here you go

DDS Thumbnail Viewer

Allows you to view .dds files in Thumbnail view in the Windows Explorer.

Adobe Photoshop Plug-ins

This installer contains two plug-ins and several helpful scripts for Adobe® Photoshop®:
  • NVIDIA Normal Map Filter
  • NVIDIA DDS PLug-in
  • NVIDIA Mipster Script
  • NVIDIA Cube Map Shuffler
The Plug-ins
The NVIDIA Normal Map filter creates normal maps from height maps for per pixel rendering. The DDS plug-in supports the DXTC texture compression format and allows you to open and save .dds files in RGB format. It reads and writes .dds files compressed or uncompressed.

Hope someone can use it =)

This is great - just one question in case someone knows - I saw and D/L'ed some plug-ins that said they were for Paintshop Pro, since I don't have Photoshop (may have been these same ones that were supposed to work with both - can't remember now, but the ones I got were definitely supposed to work with Paintshop Pro). However, they came with no installation directions and I have no clue what to do with them to make them work with Paintshop Pro. Is there anybody out there who knows how to get those things working? I'd love to start messing with some of these graphics while waiting for the patch, but I'm completely stymied at this point.

Thanks for the viewer - at least I'll be able to look inside these files now, even though I can't do anything with them yet.

Try a google search on "dds.8bi" without the quotes. That is the plugin I use for PSP version 6. You may also need some dll's, but those should be available also.
