Beery, one other good menu button to add to the Watch tab is the "Nearest Visual Contact" command. This is a very common command one uses when attacking on the surface, and it'd be nice to not have to use a 2-key combination every time I want to use it.

Speaking of that command, is there any way the report can be changed so that the officer gives the range in yards and not in feet?

He gives the range in feet? That's pretty messed up. I dunno - it's probably beyond my ability to mod. I just hope the devs get around to fixing it so that the game isn't giving us feet or metres instead of yards and kilometers instead of miles. You'd think that would be one of the first things they'd address, but apparently not.

I'll see if I can get that nearest visual contact button added. It may take a while though as I'm taking a week or two off modding SH4. I'm going through an arcade game phase so I've been playing Battlefield 2142 and this week Top Spin 2 (the PC's first real tennis game, just in time for Wimbledon!). I also had my birthday this week (I'm 45) and I got an XBox (yup, more arcade stuff - don't worry, I'm not giving up on realism - just getting this arcade bug out of my system). The XBox is really to enable the family to play games - my wife would rather be dragged into the gaming world than be a computer widow and my daughter wants to get into computer gaming at the tender age of 4, so I figured I might be able to get a Spongebob game or something for the XBox for her.

Just outta curiosity, what program do I need to unzip a 7z file? My computer will not recognise it.

Hi, guys. I was just wondering if the old "maximum range at current speed" info is in the game and I cant find it or if it would be a good addition for 1.29... in SHIII it was under the nav officer reports and I wore it out in those type IIs. In SHIV, you never know how much range you have and the voyage from Pearl to Japan at 1/3 sux!

Make this real. Plan the course. Measure the distance to the range end, make a note. Than travel with any speed but constant trough at least 5% fuel and than measure once again the distance left. You'll have a distance past divide by percentage of fuel and that’s it.

With refitting at Midway you can get to Japan at 2/3 with more then 50% gas.

Personally I'm against this command. The direction only, not range. If it would be possible to obtain only estimation with level at least 300 - 400 meters that is ok, but as far as I now this command from another modes it is exact. To easy for me.
