[quote=Penelope_Grey]I'll be ready next time.[/quote

Always good to be ready Penny.............I've never ran into a "Q" Ship Yet. Have you ?
"Q" Ships were camouflaged Armed Ships made to look like Merchants to the unsuspecting U-Boat Kapt. If you tried a surface daytime attack or stopped the Ship to board it, they would wait until you were in killing range. At that point the sides of the ship would drop to reveal the guns and they would open up on your sub. Probably would stop some of these guys from using their deck guns (only) to take out a small Merchant if they weren't sure if it was armed or not.

There an old movie out there about "Q" Ships but can't remember the name. Anyone out there remember the movie and name?

Ms. Grey, you should know better about charging ships on the surface.

(Note to self: Need to speak with Pablo about putting surgeon general's warning in GWX manual.)

Achtung to U-Boats patrolling the Caribbean: Be on the lookout for the Q-ship PILAR, operated by the Amerikaner Ernest Hemingway...

Hemingway & his crew should be considered armed and dangerous: sink on sight!

See article, about 2/3rds down the page:

Yes sir... But, what better way is there? Other than a gallant charge into battle?

But, I can certainly see from now on, I will have to attack these lone armed swine merchants under the cloak of darkness, especially in calmer conditions when their ship is more stable!

or if I happen to be able to intercept them underwater!

Beware of the Greeks! They arm their mechants sonner than most, and their not afraid to use it!

Troopships are armed from day one, son sink them with torpedo's and save yourself some grief!

Liberty and victory ships are well armed from when they first appear, so you've been warned!

Hi!

Do you mean the one about trying to carry a hardcopy of the document without a forklift?

Pablo
