Has anyone played this, I do, and its a great game, currently a Caldari Pilot, Got 2 Battleships (Rokh and Scorpian) A battlecruiser(Drake) and a Motly collection of other ships and I love it... its the only MMO that's really held my interest long, besides guild wars really, its also the reason I haven't really been posting on the forums... :p

Heres a few screenies...

My Drake the: Warhammer B (named after a lost ferox and my first real ship loss) getting pounded by missiles.

Patrolling the Low Sec lanes. (Hyperion on top, Blackbird, bottom)

Horizon, Cormorant Class engaging Gurista pirates in a Asteroid Belt near Uedema(sp?) (note I love my Cormorant Destroyer )

I played it. Its alot of fun. An excellent MMO for people that like like space and capitalism. Best part about the game is you don't have to farm for XP. You can sign off while your character continues to learn and earn xp. The whole game model is alot of fun: huge space battles, piracy, protection of security zones, economy, and crafting from resources that your corporations mine. I can see why alot of people moved over from the original Star Wars Galaxies when it was changed.

Huh.. I thought Eve had been shut down.

I played it for a while a few years ago.

Very curious concept in that it is "real time" and even when your not logged in stuff is happening.

Ya alot of people i knew in my old SWG guild went to EVE. Personaly though i didnt care much for the game as the ship did just about everything and all i did was watch and give the occasional order. I prefer my space sims hands on.

Yea I agree a bit, though there adding heat soon I guess for modules allowing you to overload the for a bonus but with a chance of destroying the module, I like it mostly cause of the amount of setups there is, were you can really get down and make a ship customizing its weapons and modules in the hopes of making a great ship.

I used to play EVE a lot, but I stopped when that 'dev cheating scandal' happened for the second time, as I thought it was outrageous and it really annoyed me that they didn't even ban the person for doing it. Sort of like 'one rule for us and one rule for you'. Much as I liked EVE, this was simply too much, so I voted with my feet. Shame really, I had two accounts for that and my own mining company for several years and it was fun, but I hate cheats.

Its a game where piracy runs rampant and you get upset over cheating?

I very much like that the devs stay out of the way, for the most part, and lets the game evolve with the players, not the other way around. It's the only successful space MMO around, and seems to be there to stay.

You do get the Frontier: Elite II feeling from time to time, which is a good sign. It's actually fun to explore, and when you feel like being alone you can always find a quiet asteroid belt in an unremarkable system and go mining or piratehunting.

I enjoyed it for a few hours yesterday. Havin' fun. If it's still this fun after a week or so, I'll probably stick to it.
