Itchy trigger finger

Regardless of the orders I give the flak gunner, inadvertantly the Luftwaffe gets peppered if they come too close.
Is there a setting or patch that forces my gunner(s) to recognise friendlies ?

Your kinda lucky to have that problem IMO
I seldom see friendlies and bad guys in the sky together at the same time :hmm:

Possibly so in GWX. No chance in hell you can outgun these guys. You should be able to gain a little underwater speed by removing them at all.

Nice thought but from what I understand the game mechanics don't work that way. As an example you can remove the deck gun and it has no affect on speed or fuel consumption.

I was having some fun yesterday running down the coast of Ireland in my IXC on the way home, shot down most of the RAF's supply of Wellingtons. Medals all round for the flak gunners when we reach Lorient.

2x 20mm /38s and a Flakvierling put a lot of lead in the air.

I know I was lucky and did get some pretty near misses with bombs but it was fun.

I won't let it happen again Herr Donitz....probably.

Running GWX in 1943.
