Default Post Processing Filters - What do they do?

After installing this mod I figured I'd give post processing filters another try.

Apart from making everything almost impossibly dark, do they actually improve anything?

Thanks,

M

well ... i think it only changes the color levels a bit, when looking at some files about this i saw one that had some values about gama etc ...
the grainy effect was really bad glad it was removed , anyway i believe the values for post process filters are editable ... and hope someone improove them

I use the remove grainy effect mod. It is great IMHO. When I first used the mod, I adjusted the gamma slider in the game to brighten up some of the dark shadowing of the PPF. Looks great and I have less eye strain with this mod. If it is to dark, adjust gamma and it helps with the shading effect. Also, the colors became more bright and vivid. It really adds depth. Mess with gamma and see how it looks for you.

Yeah, I did. It just seems to make all the colours look washed out IMO. :hmm: To each his own I guess.

I have heard other say it looks washed out. Perhaps it is the vid card they use. I'm not sure. All I can say is my colors became rich and the shading was excellent. Grainy effect gone helped keep the eye strain away.

Doesn't seem washed out to me. I'm running an 8800GTS. Maybe it's an Nvidea vs ATI thing?

I run the ATI card. Looks great to me. Maybe some tweeks on the over all card itself needs to be looked at. 16 bit color or 32 bit color, high color. Gamma itself on the card outside the game.

Strange. I have a nvidia card and colours in all other games and apps seem fine.
