When the hydrophone guy is told to track a certain contact he won't stop - the switch is supposed to be a toggle but it only switches on. You actually have to surface and hit the button again for him to shut up. Also, when surfaced, if you leave the button alone he carries on reporting the contact as if the boat is submerged.

Also, please don't make AI hydrophones or sonar any more deadly. The AI sinks us far too much as it is. They often get an impossibly perfect idea of where we are and no matter what we do it's sometimes impossible to escape. Good escape routines should allow us to get away from most destroyers - currently they don't.

Basically all mods that includes any sort of changes to the Menu.ini or any other scripts will probably have to be redone. As for graphic mods there should not be a problem unless there are specific changes to the texture that the mod uses.

Depends on the mod, I'd imagine... I wouldn't be surprised if many of the "super-mods/mod-packs" need reworking.

On the bright side, most of the mods on here tend to be maintained pretty well... and I'm hearing a few rumors of people waiting for 1.3 to start modding, anyway.

It would also be nice if the free camera views in the conning tower and on the bridge were put back in. 1.2 removed them and some of us miss them very much.

Excellent news - and a thank you to the folks I have emailed at ubi! I suspect the amount of email they got from many people "assisted" in this decision. As for the buglist fix - I am happy with it. In fact - it covers things I didnt feel were required - so its that much of a bonus.

No one has said it - but I will. Thank you to the community for the work to insure each of our voices was heard. Thank you to the devs for working to show why this was needed. And while it will tick a few people off - I thank Ubisoft for the decision to LISTEN to their customers. Yes - it shouldnt have taken this - but just like the SH3 and starforce issue - they did listen - and I give them due credit. Maybe now after 2 episodes of having to hear us be vocal - they will learn that releasing an unfinished product is something that we - as a community and a genre - will not let slide.

Either way - thanks is due to many people, and for those who say Ubi should not get a "thank you" - just remember - to ask for something - whether you SHOULD get it or not - and then get it and refuse to at least use some common courtesy - reflects badly upon you.

Great News

As far as the bug list goes,

some sounds dont seem to be playing ,
eg hissing of leaks ,
I see the graphics but dont hear any sounds after receiving damage

diving too deep vocal sound at corrrect depth,
I only have heard this once and that was during the death sequence when the sub was way off the depth scale , obviously still set to SH3 depths.

follow nearest contact,
the game doest seem to revert to normal sweep until the contact is lost even after using the normal sweep command.

the Home & End keys dont work the same as sh3 in exterior views, restricting the use of the exterior view function , unsure if this is intended or not

cannot select aircraft in exterior views , unsure if this is intended.

well thats all I can think of at the moment.

i'm not all that suprised there'll be a 1.3. the devs apparently recognize the need for one. i just hope they take care of the resolution thing cuz my LDC runs at a native res of 1280*1024 and a few dials are blurry, mainly the hydrophone . steeing it to 1024*768 does nothing either

DITTO! 10+ years waiting! I knew it! And just like that line in "Miracle On 34th Street", "I believe, I believe. It's silly, but I believe."

Any chance of getting the default torp settings to be high speed and contact only?? I never remember to change that setting until the fish is in the water!

I have just one wish: if I m sudennly going down with my ship I would like to know the reason. Bomb / Mine / or whatever.
Just to know what or who I have to curse : bomber pilot, mines or enemy ship's guns :-).
