Of those i miss Bruce the most, and he is getting old too. Harrison Ford was tough and Clint Eastwood had the biggest balls of them all. We need new heroes.:hmm:

Vin Diesel, The Rock, Jackie Chan?? I dont think so

I have started to collect old series - partially very old series - on DVD. The new films and series since a couple of years are too crappy in design and acting as if I could bear to watch them.

that's the bad thing with yearly movie awards: they give the impression that something was worth to be awared, since the award has to be spend in a given year. It says nothing about how that movie-year compares to an earlier one. Sometimes you have more good movies in a year than there are awards on a festival, so there are more loosers than winners. In other years the awards go to movies that do nor deserve it, compared to earlier winners.

So ein Stuss!

The new type of Action heroes cant compete with the old
as Vin Diesel, the rock have a attitude issue. its that attitude thats a knock out.

Problem is, the old Superstar of the 80s is dead.
Not only in movies, also in music and any other entertainment branch.
Today, you have guys for specific target groups: Vin Diesel for wannabe violent white kids, a black guy (can't think of anyone specific right now) for "black" audiences etc, Jet Li or Chow Jun Fat for asians or generally Kung Fu inclined people...
The 80s action heroes were pretty much for everybody.

Actually I had expected Rambo to return, but I had supposed he was to return to Afghanistan, maybe to fight against his allies from Rambo III...
But apparently this was politically too hot, so they sent Rambo into one of the few states on earth that has a regime generally accepted to be evil...

The Rambo movies were set in a different location every time, I wouldn't have imagined they'd change that.

im all up for a laugh and a joke but I draw the line at pure heresy! Rocky got better with time (except 5)! Rocky IV is generally regarded by the "core fans" as the best of the lot! Steve i'm disappointed :p

Yep, not to mention Stallone is 61. Kinda old to be running around the Burmese jungle ripping off heads.
My thoughts exactly. I think Stallone is having a problem aging gracefully and these Rocky / Rambo movies are just his form of mid life crisis!

So you're a fan of schlock. Not my problem.:p :rotfl:

Just kidding; but it is a point of difference. Another set of sequels I could have done without were the later Die Hards. Now that there's a fourth one of those I have to fall back on the Mad About You episode that guest-starred Willis. The episode opened with a fake TV reporter saying "Bruce Willis is back in New York, filming his latest picture, Die Already..."

Just the mention of Clint Eastwood in this thread has caused me to break out the High Plains Drifter...

Clint was, and always will be the greatest IMHO.
