I've heard about the "Chrono Bug" but what exactly is it? I obviously don't know enough to know it isn't working properly.

There are two things clock related.
One is discussed above, in that some people find the sunrise/sunset times out of wack with the ship clock, not realizing that the ship clock is not set to the time zone they are in. This is a feature, not a bug. It is the equivalent of the use of Zulu time in the military, though in this case the ship clock is set at base time. The second "Chrono Bug" is that the stop watch does not interface with the TDC to determine target speed as it does in SH3, and supposedly was meant to in SH4 according to the manual. This is easily compensated for by using several realistic techniques, including measuring target distance travelled from point to point (you already have manually determined range and bearing that you can plot twice to measure between) against a known time, or measuring known distance travelled (usually the target's length) against x time, to calculate target speed. While the issue with the Chrono interface is reasonably considered a bug, it is far from a show stopper, and in a way, adds to realism for me. I use the in game stop watch as described above for manual solutions. Hope that helps.
