Default SH3 Commander Random Folders

ALCON,

Does anybody know how to use these specifically? I have gotten enough instruction to know that I unzip skins I want to put into those folders and they will appear randomly. The question is, at what level - once I have a folder named in the YYYYMMDD format, do I put the data folder inside, or the whole mod folder?

I am trying to use the old Dirty Crew mod to have randomly dirty boys onboard - if anybody has done that please let me know.

Thanks, as always, for the help I always get here.

Tchuss,

There is a sticky above concerning SH3CMDR. Read through it and find the part on random folders. There is also a readme file in the CMDR install with detailed instructions. if you still have questions, post your problem in the sticky thread and JSCones will see it and help you.

Roger,

Read through all parts on Random Folders by search, in the forum and in the sticky - read through the manual in detail - proceeding to post in the Sticky. Thanks for the tip irish.

What I still am not getting is exactly what to put in the random folders - the Data folder of a Mod - or the Mod itself - and I do get that whatever goes - goes in the dated folder down inside the random folder.

Moving to the sticky, again, thanks for the tip.

Notewire.

I am not sure, but I don't think that the random folders will activate a mod. I think it will only replace one file at random. To activate a mod you need JSGME.

Just use the same file structure as whatever mod you are adding starting with data/. . . .

The file structure I am using is as follows:

\SH3 Commander\Random\0\Date\19390901\data\....
\SH3 Commander\Random\1\Date\19390901\data\....
....

Under data you must put all the usual folders found under the data folder of any mod.

The Date\19390901 (you can add also other folders with different dates, e.g. 19410101) enables you to have also the date selection when randomizing items.

I don't know id the Date\19390901 part is mandatory but I found it and left it there, the randomization I am using (random crew clothes) is working good

Irish1958, SH3 Commander can indeed be used to randomize the activation of a whole mod.
