Default How to get more points?

Hi mates,

Two questions please.

When I'm out to patrol in... Let's say at AN18.
On the way to that particular grid, I am passing along England's shores hunting and sinking enemy ships. Does it matter?
Do I get more points by sinking enemy ship within my assigned grid?

Q2:
Does It matter (point wise) if I 'Return to base' using that option from the menu vs. Sailing the entire why back to Kiel?

Thanks,

Temujin

1. No, you dont get better renown points for sinking enemy ships within your assigned grid. The renown value for ships is always the same (unless you modify it) and depends only on realism settings (100% realism = 100% renown). however, you will get extra renown for reaching assigned grid (200 points in the stock game) and for patroling for 24 hours (500 points in the stock game). plus the points for sunk ships (if any).

2. when you are within 30 km to base, you can use "dock at kiel". iyou need not sail entire way back to the base. what matters is the distance of 30 kms. if you are not close enough to base, you will not see the "dock at..." button. it also depends on what mod do you use.

Raduz is right.

You can sink ships anywhere and gain the same amount of renown.

You get extra renown for.....

Reaching your Patrol Grid
Completing 24hrs in the Grid
Returning to base (manually) i.e within 30-25km and chosing 'Dock at......'

FYI - returning to base manually is only worth 100 renown points so it's up to you whether your decide to take the trouble.

hehe, thanks, danlisa, I forgot the successfull-return-to-base renown so, in reply to temujin, you can acquire extra renown for reaching the grid, patroling for 24 hours and for getting back home. that means 800 points in the stock game. there is no difference in sinking a ship within the assigned grid or outside it. Just be careful and dont sink friendly or neutral vessels, it would cost you "extra" renown

Hello Temujin! You may go to My Documents/SHIII/cfg/career/Your Captain's name/Patrol_0 and edit this file entering whatever DeltaReknown value for your current patrol.Open file with Wordpad, edit it,and don't bother yourself with reknown problems.
