The silence here is deafening....you guys might want to consider the fact that people are very busy working on the next update :hmm:

Now watch someone come along with an answer to blow me out of the water :rotfl:

I'm on it, Jim
Anyway, SilentWayIII asked a general question....no idea if he's using GWX (as I do).

I found this on the German Ubi-forums...the quote is from Febr.16th 2007:

Quote:
short translation:

- In GWX, the FuMO391 is replaced by the FuMB37 Leros (for the XXI)...a Radar Warning Receiver.
- Athos (FuMB35) was the latest refinement, and had 2 loop-antennae groups, mounted in a pressure-dome on a scope.
- Near the end of the war, a prototype was tested.
- A next refinement had the electronics of the Athos combined with the Bali, which became the FuMB37 Leros.
- this was mounted on some XXI's, on the Schnorkel.

So we are talking about the FuMB37 Leros here, I guess...and you have to sail a XXI, to be able to get one eventually, if you're using GWX.
If not...no idea, lol.
But in the end, imo it doesn't make any difference...there has to be some value to change- either for the FuMO391, or the FuMB37 Leros - but I hope it's not in the .dat-files.

Default Thanks for the clarification on the 391

I am using GWX and I am using the XXI with a start date of January 44. I modified date availability and flotilla data as well as several files in the submarine folder for the XXI.

Thanks for finding out the information you posted on the radar detector. As you mentioned though, unless the the data is somewhere other than in the basic file, I'd like to know where.

Using the XXI is a treat and having the radar detector on top of the snorkle provides the ultimate detection capability for a snorkling submarine. I would simply like to have it available earlier if I need to use the snorkle in heavily (air) patrolled areas.

Yes, the only other option you have, is to travel surfaced, and hope the watchcrew gets an early warning.

Seriously, if I was the captain, I would order to mount the existing RWR on the schnorkel ourselves...sometimes you have to improvise a bit.

I tried to get this working again (still want a RWR on the schnorkel in July'44), so I ordered my engineer to modify and mount our existing RWR on the schnorkel.

Unfortunately, as soon as we started our patrol, the RWR was destroyed (message in dialog-box, and on F7-screen).
I did make sure, that no upgrades were done on 1st patrol...this attempt was at the start of 2nd patrol.

All I did (because I know no other values yet), was to change something in basic.cfg:

Code:
NameIdx7=1279
Year7=1945
Month7=1
NbSub7=1
Sub70=3; Just to the Type XXI
Renown7=20000
Name7=FuMO391
....was changed into:
Code:
NameIdx7=1279
Year7=1944
Month7=7
NbSub7=1
Sub70=3; Just to the Type XXI
Renown7=20000
Name7=FuMO391
...but obviously this wasn't good enough.

Do I have to make a change in the section that starts with:
Code:
;[SUBMARINE_AMMO11];XXI
[SUBMARINE_AMMO10]
?
Am I missing something else?

Inquiring minds want to know. I've embarked on a what-if 1939 career in the XXI (modded by myself further to give me year-appropriate torps), and for 3 or so more game years it is a moot point but if someone from GWX who worked on the late war antennas mod would like to chime in here it would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you this in reference to the late war sensors for the player U-boat optional mod included in GWX... It wasn't a simple affair to introduce it... and VonHelsching, the gentleman who produced it... has left the building.

It works... so we don't mess with it... particularly when it comes to conjectural matters. (no offense intended) We've moved on to other matters.
