SSG Games

I noticed the link to SSG's CaW dev diary on SUBSIM's front page, and became curious if any here from this community play any titles from SSG's library. I don't currently have any of their titles myself, though I've been entertaining their latest release, Battlefront.

Anyone else here have or play Battlefront?

With SSG games, I am strictly a "Carriers at War" fan....

Always have been a big fan of CAW, can remember some long nights playing it when it first came out!

In fact, I'm playing a scenerio right now, from CCAW that runs on XP!! It comes with the original CAW, CAW II and "The Construction Kit", so I can create any number of carrier battles! Database includes (from the Contruction Kit) aircraft such as an A6, F8 and a F14 Tomcat, so can make newer battles.

CAWII has battles from the ETO included , so it just isn't from the PTO. Looks just the way it did when they were first out, which is no problem for me, brings back great memories!!

Battlefront (fantastic game!)

Just a quick update:

I decided to purchase this latest SSG offering up from Matrix, and all I can say is ... wow, what a game! If you're after a hex based operational game at the battalion level, Battlefront hits the sweet spot. I'm still learning the system and enjoying the battles versus the AI, but I'm really looking forward to getting some PBEM games going.

After seeing the quality of this SSG title, I'll definitely be picking up the new CAW once it becomes available.
