For our more selective forum readers, we present you with a link straight from the horse's ass.

Is that better?

OK, so the EUP are looking at the environmental impact of livestock farming?
That sounds sensible. Animals are not without impact, for example: Some of the fields near my village are not allowed to hold life stock because they eutrophy the local river and kill the fish.
As for the greenhouse gasses, the EU are quite right to look into every avenue, even if nothing comes of their investigation. Life stock release CO2 and NO2 from the plant they eat that have captured the CO2 and NO2 from the air and ground respectively. In this way a cow in a field if carbon neutral as long as new grass grows, but some farmers already trap the gases from manure to use in power generation so why not question things and investigate?

I much prefer a organization that asks many questions to one that has many answers before asking questions. The more places you look, the more things you will find!

One question.

How many squares of toilet paper are the animals using?

You're thinking of methane, Letum. And we've been here before.

Agreed, the EU's double location system is ridiculous. It's one of the unfortunate aspects of a multinational system.

.....But, strangely enough, that doesnt make methane any less harmful to the planet. Who'd have thought it?

After about 4 minutes of poking around....

Methane is twenty times more harmful than CO2, and the Eu produces 400 million tons of it per year, half of that from agriculture

by all means, focus on the 20,000 tons of CO2.

Vegans is a misnomer. Vegans are beings from the Vega star system. People who don't eat meat should be referred to by their proper scientific term; Herbivore.

A couple of quotes from my dim dark past:

"I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain so I could eat veggies!"

"Veggies are what food eats!"

nah, if I lion only ate grass it would still be a carnivore, if a human only eats grass it is still a omnivore.

I practically live on spicy sausages and cheese.
