Check the temp being generated inside your tower. It sounds like you need another fan because your system is overheating.

I concur with TDK...also, when was the last time you physically cleaned out your system? If your card has a heatsink w/no fan, it could be dust clogging up the heatsink that's your problem. My brother's CPU reached 80 C and started shutting down before he thought to ask me what was going on (dust had blocked up the heatsink).

If it continues, get a larger power supply.
It sounds like you're possibly pressing your current one's current. Make a note of the Amps on the 12 volt rail. Your current PSU probably says it can support enough current but you gotta remember, the more stuff you have hooked up to it will degrade how much it will actually put out. When the power supply is pouring out max. current, it will heat up very fast and stay there under load. I suspect this is the problem and cooling it off may only be a temporary fix until the power supply (running at high current) gives out. If that happens, I hope it is an after market one since a lot of the Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway power supplies are the lowest quality possible. They can fry some of your other components starting with your motherboard if you're unlucky. Most certainly on eMachines. Just a heads-up. In the meantime, see if you have a place to mount a fan somewhere near the front of the tower, and you will most certainly have another spot to mount one in the back. Go buy (normally) 80mm fans and make sure to check the sides of them. If they're halfway decent, they'll have an arrow pointing up and an arrow pointing diagonally. That's the airflow indicators. Make sure the one in front is shooting air in, and the one in back.. shooting out.
