Actually, it's in for each ship by date under their sns file (Sea/Shipname/Shipname.sns).
So you can set the dates the sensors appear, or you can set them to NULL. What TYPE of escort did you think had radar? I've checked a few and they are 1944. The type 13 radar is air search (very common, over 1000 built), and the type 21 is surface search. All the type 21s in game seem to happen in November 1944. I think that most escorts probably shouldn't have it, even then. Course the type 22 was made in more numbers, so they probably use the 21 as a general surface search radar. Problem is that it was installed here and there, not all ships got it. Eeew, look at this: Quote:
Note that a very common (in GAME) escort is the Akizuki, the one DD least likely to escort anything but warships in RL. It has radar in 1942, 1 year before any ships had radar in the IJN. So does Asashio. Checking others. All those type 13 radars need the earliest date to be March 1943, though it would have gone to BBs, then CA, and then lesser types. Late 43 would make more sense, or at least late in the summer. |
