Tons of historical inaccuraties, bugs etc. in SHIII were fixed by the modders. Cant see why the same thing wouldn't happen with SHIV/SHIII2SHIV.
Yup, the variety of missions supported, the potentially (though currently buggy) more realistic and deeper damage model are 2 good reasons to persue this.
