Default Subchasers..

Hi everyone,

Im new to this game and i just wanted to ask something..

1) How do i sink a Subchaser? I fired 3-4 torps, but they just pass underneath him or simply miss.. They don´t go to deep, i checked that.
2) In Attack map.. You have a green line, does torps follow this line?
And when you lock a target in periscope mode, then this line will start to curve in the Attack map mode, and i dont know.. But my torps goes like a banana, If i want to make a straight shot. I play on normal mode if thats any help.

Thank you for any reply.

US trops would do that sometimes especially early in the war. What time period are you and what are you driving?

The sub chaser has a fairly shallow draft of 7.5 feet. Make sure your torp depth is set accordingly, and to the detonation method you've selected.

The torps are set to Contact Influence, and the depth is as shallow as i can set it.

They might be running deep---what's the sea state like?
They are hard to sink with torps.

Don't waste torps on subchasers or gunboats. With their shallow draft,
the torp will always pass underneath them. I tested this already and
unless the torp depth is set to almost surface (which you can't do now)
you will never hit these ships...

Best way to kill a Subchaser is to surface and pound away with your cannon. The kill pretty easy like Gunboats. That is if they're isn't a lot of other boats that are shooting at you too.

I ran into 2 sub chasers which accompanied two cargo boats and when I blew one of the cargo's out of the water (lucky shot, pressed 'enter' just too soon but it still hit) they didn't even came looking for me.

Made note to self: "Sub chasers: don't" which now comes right after "Friendly fire: isn't" on my personal war fare guideline.

Then I targeted the one trailing the 'convoy' and thought I just missed that one. I never suspected the torp to go under it. Lessen learned here today! Thanks.

Yes i was thinking about that also, but the only problem is that my Deck gun is out of ammo.. And i have orders to take this convoy out and now i can´t. It´s very annoying

But surely there are other, more important ships you can sink?

Of course there is, but its frustrating to just sail away and leave them.

Actually early in the war that's fairly realistic. They might make one pass and drop a few depth charges just to "scare the sub away", but a lot of the time they just kept on going.
