CLEARER COMPASS
Made by
CAPTAIN COX
Small mod that Makes the graphics on the Compass a bit more readable.
Install with JSGME
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html
Enjoy!

As per request I did this mod based on the Compass from SH3
I tweaked it to blend in more with the style of SH4.

So ... you changed West to North and that got rid of the smaller lines ... right? :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm just kidding m8, thanks a bunch for this one.

Looks crisp now. If you find the time I'd like some sort of marking on the dial edge itself, makes it easier to see just where the heck I'm going exactly.

AHHHHH!!!! markings hey ...ok nice idea...not historically corect maybe but...check back here in 10 :p

EDIT! as the same texture is used for all 3 dials its not possible...I was talking to soon sorry. Plus the ring dont rotate with the inner graphics so pretty pointless eaven if one did put markings.

Personally this is the 1st instrument I klick to the 2nd view (left/right) as soon as I go in to the game. I look at the map for heading.

That's okay, thanks again for the (very fast) reply and effort. I'll try and force myself to do the map thing then. I'll live!

About that left/right ... (hope I'm not bugging you too much) do you think it's possible to map a key, preferably the arrow keys for example, to gradually go one degree left or right? So I can just go tab-tab-tab (the sound, not the key ) and go 3 degrees (the heading, not the band) to the right?

Hmmm well there is a script for the keys...but have not really looked at it in detail. I guess its possible but it might involve a lot of coding here and there...And then to actually lock those keys to the steering etc...hmmm :hmm:

Those are basically your options and to do like you want will be dam hard. It would mean to recode a lot of stuff. As the game is basically set up to use the mouse I wonder if its at all possible.

Not bad, but is it possible to get numbers on there so we don't have to count the little marks to find the course we want to set? Thanks for the mod.

Well I did this as per request
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111582
So my intention was simply to fulfill what "clayp" asked for.
Personally I am using "Retextured Orders bar gauges" made by "OakGroove"
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=110655
Which is simply awesome.

Couldn't help but agree, those look like the real deal to me. And they fit in nicely with the rest of the sub.

What I'm hoping for ultimately is something like the '6-Dials Simfeeling Mod', with no on-screen guages and REALLY BIG slide-outs.
