I spent two years beta testing primarily patches...so I've been through the whole routine...repeatedly. You have no idea how frustrated devs get when they think they fixed a problem...only to find out that the fix "didn't take" and have to go back to square one with it. Or how frustrating it can be for beta testers to know that a patch will still have bugs we could have straightened out if the devs would have been given more money and time to work on the patch. (And I know Devs got that way too. They would cry on the shoulders of the beta team sometimes.)

What's worse is when there is a bug they know HOW to fix...but are afraid to mess with it cause it's in the hard coded portion of the code. The devs I betaed for wouldn't touch the hard coded stuff. From what they told us too many things can go very wrong once you start messing in there. And that is with code THEY created.

Tomorrow is my 42nd birthday and I also happen to enjoy my eye candy - so don't lump me in with those whippersnappers. I didn't spend good money on a 20" monitor and x1900xtx to play a game in 1024x768 (in the year 2007, no less). Sure, they need to fix the showstopper bugs but, for me the graphics is equally important to my gameplaying experience. - I want to be able to identify those ships at a distance through the scope dammit, instead of trying to guess if some pixel is a stack or an antenna or what.
