Default Overlord

Any GWX users had a chance to patrol the normandy coast on June 6th 1944?

I showed up around 5:00 pm on the 5th.

The largest armada GWX has probably ever known starts marshalling about 5 - 10 km off the coast around midnight to 2 am - then the planes show up. between the bombing, and the random depth charging of the coastal waters i was a dead man by 4am!

might want to make a quick career on june of 44 and go check it out.

sorry if this has BPB

i was really dissapointed in the stock SH3 when i prowled off the normandy coast out of curiosity and i found practically NOTHING there hehehe

i was going to try and sink what i assume to be the USS Texas on June 6th but two things stopped me

1. I just couldnt sink a ship named Texas

AND

2. The dozens of DDs having their way with me prison shower style sort of got in the way

Where in Texas are you if i may ask.

<East Tex here

That answers that question at least partly, was wondering whether there was a large fleet on D-Day in vanilla SH3.

Yet another incentive to get gwx!

Ummm, well... I hope you don't mind if I'm not specific about my location in a public forum. You understand.

I have to say... if the U.S.S. Texas battleship is produced for GWX... I will eat my grimy little white hat.

Sounds like it's working the way it's supposed to.

it was a huge step up from stock SH3.

It would have been cool if there was a way to cause all the destroyers and battleships and cruisers to randomly shell the coast between 5 and 6 in the morning.

Believe it or not... we actually considered ways to do that... the problem is buggy shore installations... and that EVERY ship would fire constantly... destroying FPS utterly.

yeah i know - as i was typing that i was thinking "they could have put shore batterys but then you would have every tom dick and harry in the invasion fleet letting loose at once."

something like that would bring any computer to its knees.
