Default No deck gun ammo?

I noticed earlier that even though it shows I've got loads of rounds for it, whenever I go to deck gun it only shows the HE round selection pic and I have absolutely no ammo for it? Whats up with that anyone else experianced it?

Not meaning to be critical or harsh here, just an FYI.
There is a search function (second option from the left) on the menu bar. Within that option is an "Advanced Search" function that will let you refine your search by any number of additional parameters. For questions like these, that have been asked many times, you will get a large number of informative threads . I find it quite useful for such questions and frequently get additional information on the topic that I hadn't even thought to ask.

If you are using GWX you will only have HE shells as thats all that uboats carried
Your inventory shouldnt show AP shells for deck gun

Have you manned the deck gun? You cannot fire the gun yourself if you haven't assigned any crew to it.
If you press F10 to go to the deck gun, normally you will only see the "HE" shell icon with a 0 in the lower left and lower right corners. If you have no crew assigned to the gun, you can click on the shell icon until the cows come home and nothing will happen. Press F7 to go to the crew assignment screen. Double-click on the deck gun compartment to assign some crew. Press F10 to go back to the deck gun. Now click on the picture of the HE shell. The lower right number should change to 220(If you have a type VII), you should see a white "loading" progress line in the middle and when it's done the number in the lower left should change to 1. Now you can fire the gun by hitting the spacebar.

No I man it....go to the deck gun and it just shows that I've got 0 of 0 rounds..instead of say 1 of 59.

Ok, couple of other stupid questions:
1. After manning the gun with crewman, are you clicking on the HE icon itself? Just manning the gun still leaves the lower left and lower right numbers at 0. They don't change until you actually click the icon.

2. What kind of sub are you using? Type IIs don't actually have a deck gun. Just a flak gun, though it is in the location the deck gun is on all the other subs.

3. Are you in a campaign or a training mission? Some of the training missions disable some of the features of the submarine. Do you get this behavior in the "artillery training mission" as well?

4. We're all assuming you are using GWX, are you? Do you have any mods installed?

On a type VIIB, 1941. GWX 1.03 with the skin pack, thats it. I'm going to check about clicking the icon again, I have done so but you know what computers are like sometimes lol.

Woops everyone missed this. Sorry, you can't man the gun by yourself without crew. You gotta have crew first on the gun, then jump in and take control (they are still there, I mean you can't load by yourself right?) then click on the shell icon and you should be good to go.
