The game loads much faster, the screens switch instantly from one function to another and when you start a patrol(once the patrol loads) everything is smooth as silk with all the harbor traffic and scenary, I am using easy mode and between medium and high graphics settings. I set my video card for using antialiasing, mipmapping, medium/high quality textures and FSAA(2X), The game graphics are just breathtaking (especially the details of the ships/planes and men + explosions from torpedos) and now the game is great fun and will only get better with more patches and mods.
