No, I'm no fan boy. I'm just someone who respects the work and dedication that goes into making a game.

What you don't seem to get is just because they don't post here doesn't mean they aren't reading the boards.
Besides...if they did post here people would be all over them with tons of questions that the devs don't have time to answer...they do have other things they need to do...like "work". |

I for one can not remember at anytime in the history of PC gaming, a game that was released in a "perfect" state. Even if relatively bug free, you would still read "They got this wrong." or "This should be like that." ect.
For such a short development time, I think this is a great sim as it is, given the scope of the project. We could all be twiddling our thumbs and posting "Hurry up and finish" threads, instead of playing a very playable if not perfect sub sim, if Ubi desided to wait until it was 100% polished and tested to the max. Sure some of the bugs are readily odvious and should have been detected during beta, but we all know issues with it will be resolved asap, and having the game on PC's world wide, all bugs will show much sooner and be able to be fixed in far less patches and development time. We are all testers of this game. Well written feedback to Ubi will yield far better results than some of the very negative feedback I've read. Just my 2 cents, I'm not trying to ruffle feathers here. |

Look, I could care less if they read it or not. But the proof IS NOT IN THE PUDDING! If they read anything on this board, years ago when we had millions of post's about wishlist's you think they would add those things? Maybe atleast 30% of most of the wishlist's?? Bottom line is they cheaped out on alot of stuff and they can because this game is not a big ONLINE game where people will talk and the word will spread.. 95% of people that buy this game will be by impulse " Look a sub game " not like many other games.. In anycase a picture of Dev with a book open to some specs of a sub and his monitor on our forum really doesn't tell me much other than someone like Neil had contact and asked for this set up picture to be taken.. Again if they really read this board the way you all think they do there would be allot more responce, I can bet at this point most of the Dev's are retired with this game except a few just to fix some stuff, and that won't even be focused much because they have other projects to get to. |

I find it funny that you complain that you think the devlopers not working hard enough on SH4, and then you turn around and complain that they don't spend enough time posting on forums. :hmm: You have obviously made up their mind that SH4 is the source of all the worlds ills. Fine, bully for you. But do you have to keep reposting it over and over and over?

I have been seeing many people in these forums complaining about the current Sh4 status, I have read their reasons for that, I have mentally agreeded to a certain extent with them....but above all in my mind I have a picture: A picture of the good old Silent Service in my Commodore Amiga....a picture that slides into SH1 1.0 with some bugs and a maximum 256x time compression
![]() I recognize that I might not be nowadays fully impartial. I'm not a just-arrived gamer who has bought in the shop for 40$ (or whatever) a DVD box with something called "Silent Hunter 4" inside, but.....I am VERY happy to see we have finally got to the end of a long way and have SH4 here. Go on, those of you who critisize anything. You might be right on some or even many aspects. But I made the long and lonely "desert crossing" and I see what the present and near-future brings: The best ever pacific submarines game. And I'm happy with what I see coming! I have waited too long to see this, just to waste my time now in whining about some bugs that will be addressed soon. @Kaptain Phillips: I'm with you ![]()

Cripes !! Is that what a romainian looks like !
Scarey Stuff ![]() I seem to remember a poster named Eniaba or somthing, was supposed to be a dev. Im sure they do read these forums somewhat, and Im pretty sure the bug thread gets a good look in, in particular. They also may be posing with out revealing themselves. Sneaky those romainians... |

One thing is release a game finished, and with the time, users detect some bugs or problems that are fixed in future patches.
And the other (sh4) is release a game , unfinished, full of bugs, including some from sh3 . and with a too heavy hardware specs, probably an not optimized graphics. ![]() They have less time to do it, but is the sh3 engine, modified for improved graphics, so, a lot of work was done, perhaps the new enviroment effects take too many time in the work.
