The propaganda is great but unfortunatly you have to deal with the advertisements like with anything else that you ever get for free. I have a few ww2 training films and they are great just because of the propaganda. "Hear that german machinegun, don't hide in the dirt get up and get him, his bark is much worse than his bite!" haha classic it still makes me laugh. btw good to see another portland captain.

Well, "free" with a caveat - the game DOES cost $50. Still, I get your point. All games do, and most just have the game itself.

Still, you should pick up the 'Naval Combat Pack' for comparison. For $20, it really IS worth it for the DVD alone, and there are 3 pretty durn good games in there besides. Plus, hey, clicking that link in the upper right supports SubSim!

(Although I do want to be careful not to appear ungrateful. Yes, the DVD in the other pack is better, but I will any day, and GLADLY take what Sh4 delivered in the box vs any other recent game. EASILY.)

Indeed, we've actually got another member whose location reports Portland proper, too. Miss the amount of history on the East coast, but it's nice to be able to actually AFFORD property that can SEE the water. Totally impossible over there, LOL!

Some great game shops in the area, though - 'Bridgetown Hobbies' over on the East side of Portland regularly runs various wargames. And 'Western Oregon Wargamers' run naval miniature games on a pretty regular basis, I understand.

I came from San Diego, talk about naval history, but the same property rates. I will have to check out that hobby shop when i venture to the easy side (not very often)
