[TEC] Swapping Tga for DDs works!

I found out today that deleting a .dds file and placing instead the same image but in tga format (Be careful to keep the alpha channels) works with no problem. Apparently the game defaults to tga if no dds with the same name is found. This is HUGELY practical, as it allows a much faster correction/tweak/modification of the files with no need to continuously converting to dds and back before testing.

Sorry if you all knew this already, but I thought it was worth posting it in case someone didn't...

I just went and got the dds plug-in for photoshop. Works like a charm with Photoshop Elements 5.0.

I suggest taking the time and putting the textures in dds format for public releases, in order to speed up loading time

Nice find, but as "Beery" said, the NV DDS works perfectly, and if it's true what "elanaiba" says about the loading times...well

@ "Beery" "Photoshop Elements 5.0" what the diff compared to normal PS ? , just wondering if its worth getting it, but I feel PS is enough or ?

I just made the distinction because I use Photoshop Elements and I hadn't tried the plug-in with any other Photoshop version, so I didn't want to mislead folks if they found it didn't work with Photoshop LE or something..

Cheers man. I am used to Photoshop from work , and to be totally hones I don't have a clue as to the difference between PS and Elements, but PS works just fine so I guess i stick to that for now

Photoshop Elements is the semi-featured cheap version of Photoshop meant for the proletariat. The aristocrats and their decadent imperialist lackeys get the full version.

I still remember the time I had a real version of Photoshop. For a long time, while I had Photoshop LE I missed the ability to skew and do all that other neat manipulation of images. Photoshop Elements has a bit more functionality, but I'm sure the real thing kicks butt.
