im not sure how i feel about the tactic of stalking convoys with escorts in waters near the phillipene islands often as shallow as 35 meters! let alone for two days.

Got my arse busted by some destroyers after they were POd by me sinking 1/4 of their convoy. deployed some decoys and went as deep as i could maybe 35 meters with 4 or 5 under the keel... managed to get away but i had some pretty serious holes in the boat.

ill try to stick around for several days and see what happens.

seems like on some missions i just get to the vicinity of the little objective star and it shows "complete" with a new objective popping up "Engage enemy merchant shipping".

I was told in a thread I made that included this same question that you have to be within what... 55nm? Something like that, of that patrol icon (the binoculars thing). If you do that and stay within that vincinity you can get credit after 2 days. I don't know if this is true. We'll see

My previous campaign . . when I finally got to the patrol area I couldnt even open the Captains Panel without a lockup. Reinstalled the game and the same thing happened . . . so I guess I got a corrupted savegame somehow.

Have started a new campaign. Currently things are OK. At least until I accidentally hit the Maintain Depth key (A) and I CTD'd. Sigh.

This seems mostly due to the enourmous amount of radio messages you recieve, they seem to bloat the Captain's Panel the further you go into your patrol, making it take a looooong (very long) time to load, eventually.
