The computer technician when I was in college made an offhand comment about them. My lecturer was like talking about differences betwen JPEG's and BMP's..... and the technician explained and then made the offhand comment "we got the porn community to thank for the invention of the JPEG"

and of course me being me, I just in the middle of class blurted out "OMG is that true?" and he said, "yes it is."

I was like...oooh I see.

The images are hosted at Imageshack, how do I convert them to jpegs?

As odd as it may seem, PORN can be thanked for many things when it comes to the growth of the Computer.

And that includes the World Wide Web. It was the quick and easy distribution of Porn that really showed the benefits of the Internet, Cd's for games and of course DVDs for movies.

The reason the Internet is so crammed with Porn is because it had a very early start.

Although, I give credit to Sims for pushing Graphic Cards in the past few years, though it may have been Porn that started the push for more colors and higher resolution in the beginning

Hello Hakahura,

Try viewing the picture on your PC, go to FILE, click on SAVE AS and save as JPG or JPEG under SAVE AS TYPE.

Once you have the picture saved in JPG format on your PC, Upload that to the Internet site.

Use a free image editing suite like Infranview - http://www.irfanview.com/

Open your screenshot in this program and then 'save as' jpeg. Use a compression ratio of about 80%, this should reduce your image size to a respectable level.

Infranview is easy to use and the compression ratio is a popup box when you goto save your image.

To convert your already hosted images you must change the originals and repeat the u/l process.(or re-save the posted ones here)

I believe with irfanview you can do the saves as jpgs and not have to convert from bmps. Dan can confirm that I think.

I have the program saved but won't be using it until I do a HDD reformat.

That's correct.

SH3 screenshots are saved by the game as BMP.

Just open the BMP in Infranview and choose 'save as' & select JPEG.

All done, saved & converted.

The porn industry doesn't like HD Recording. It shows everything in such fine detail, you can see every wrinkle and flaw that the porn stars have, despite mood lighting and makeup. There are a couple who do use it, mainly HD-DVD not Blueray, as it's cheaper to produce on HD-DVD.

The bigger of the two formats here in Australia is BlueRay, with some DVD shops only stocking Blueray. HD-DVD is going to make a push in the near future, but the outcome is still in doubt as the take up numbers are still low and prices are still high.

It makes me wonder if some future SH title will be on High Def Discs???:hmm:
