I honestly doubt the people on the GWX team will, as a team, make a concerted effort on SHIV. It' was a large project, months in the making, stress levels were high at times, and i think alot of them are burnt out. (just my impression) They just "finished" sh3, i doubt they'll drop their bags and start over just like that. Its not like they live to make mods. They wanted to make the game they wanted to play.

No, i expect that SH4 will be approached at frist primarly by a few of the modders from SH3, but overall by a different crew of modders, and i woudlnt expect any concerted team effort for some time, if ever. The teams that made up GWX and NYGM didn't exactly spring up overnight, and therein lies most (bit certainly not all) of where the modding talent on this forum lays.

I am going to try one more time to see if it is on the selves, but I know that I should not hold my breath that it will be.
Deep, it won't be. Today is the Ship date. IE EB games doesn't ship from warehouses to stores until the Ship date. Which is today. Your not going to buy the game cause its released on a Wen instead of tuesday? LOL.

To bad nobody bet me .25 Cents I would be rich now.

Ever though that maybe they dont like the Pacific submarine war and wont buy the game?
It is in their blood! I believe the modding community will be just as strong with this as the others.
I´ve heard some of the members say that they have absolutely no interest in SH4. So, atleast part of the team wont most likely be there.

True, they did not spring up overnight. The good thing is they have already sprung. Mods will be made just like SH3 and a few will say, lets make a super mod. IMHO I believe the fellas that created GWX will want to do the same here. Just my thoughts on it. I do not believe that this will start tomorrow. These guys need to play the vanilla and look it over, etc. Build it and they will come.

I think this is a more appropriate award.

Vanilla SHIII - w/ the first two patches was pretty good- and loads of fun.

(a damn, now my avatar is that "washed-out" Bing Crosby as a sailor looking guy )

Now, now, this is a thread whining, complaining, and drama queening about SHIV.

I think it is highly inappropriate to show a picture of Winston Churchill in that context.

He'll do some waiting and go into the software shop in Dallas and pick it up
and hold it in his hands and read the box and sniff it and wonder if he should
buy it and then say, "What the heck it's the buy in that counts"
just like in a real crap game, it's the buy in ...
win or lose you had a chance to be part of something great.

he'll be back ... won't you jack ...

I mean Deep-Six ...

I just think its a shame you spend the money to the developer and publisher and then have to rely on the moders to give you what you want and the game you paid for. Thank good for modders as they have made games that play for years instead of days but still.

Ubi states this game has been in development since SHIII so that should tell someone back in Romania that all the things they did wrong in SHIII needs to be fixed in SHIV as well as taking all the nice things the modders did and incorporate it.

I'm getting the game regardless but I'm still disappointed in the developers for the lack of completion in the game.
