Nice pics and thank you for sharing.

What kind of ship is that on her port side? What's the purpose of those strange hatches on her stern and what is the large cylindrical object on the side?

IIRC, it's an ex-East German Tarantul missile boat.

The holes in the stern are exhaust covers for the gas turbine engines, the cylinders on the side are missile launch tubes. ( you can see the back of the fins just peeking out on the bottom launcher in the pic)

That is the Hiddensee.... Originally commissioned by the East German Navy as the Rudolf Eglehofer, the Hiddensee is a Tarantul I class Corvette.

Here are the ships moored or displayed inside at Battle ship Cove.
