No, for this mod the map update must be unchecked!

Well with map updates off my sub is shown as a dot untill zooming in, both the Navmap & Attack maps display nothing (as it should), no ships of any type are displayed at any zoom level, the map image you have drawn (posted) shows a circle with merchant data displayed, if map udate is off how do you get that info displayed, as I said my maps are blank!

Edit: I did not edit the menu ini file as I didn't have the nomo.tga file, unless it's part of SH3?

Well, I'm not sure what problem you have, but if you leave unchecked option "no maps updates" everything will work as it should. If you check this option then You will not see a contact because if this option checked then you have on "no maps update". Your sub is represent like dot, until zooming in (well I using 1500 navmap mode) you will see the measures (in my case), for the other ship, you will see nothing on map until you dont have a contact. First when you submerged and pick up sonar contact you have doted contact represent on map, but only when You view your target on scope and lock on target you will se on your map a circle which represent a target as in picture. When you in surface and see target try to move a arrow on map and then will circle appear if don't try to zoom out for little and then you will see a circle. Hope this helps.
