Default Thread tags

Hi! I would like to introduce at least four thread tags and I would like to know if you like the idea or not.

[WIP] for work-in-progress mods
[REL] for released mods
[REQ] for mod requests
[TEC] technical discussions

All thread starters would be required to use the correct tags. Example: [REQ] More deck gun ammo

IMO this would greatly enhance the clarity of the Mods forum, it´s easier to see what those threads are about on the first sight. I stole the idea from the Elderscrolls forum (Oblivion and Morrowind), where they use this method with good success.

An additional advantage would be that one could use the forum search to find all threads about, for example, released mods.

Can you put this in the SH3 Mods too?

Voted Yes!

Edit - Or at least ask the other mods to.

The Idea of its ability to aid in thread search is brilliant but
should there be more catagories? I have no suggestions.
but questions I do have.

by way of example the thread I put up.
"what are the top ten sinkings in world war 2" I feel that in discussion
we would end up catagorizing this within the bounds of [tec]

but is it really? a technical discussion or an interest topic after all
we arent talking about only mods but the shIII general discusion forum
and I would assume by implication that this would also include the
sh4 general and mods forums.

what catagory would the release content speculative threads of SH4
general thread fall under andthat sort of thing.?

I will after all make a suggestion
[int] for topical discussions and such.
it may not be valid but I will also suggest

[Hist] although I feel this will likely end up tec not int
im not sure hist deserves its own catagory but history is
my passion so ill suggest it any way.

Will this also effect the SubSim General Forum?
[CvT] current events

[DA] Darwin Awards (sorry watched that jet guy alpha testing his
jetpack in the alps for the first time today:rotfl

and im sure there might be a few others that may turn out usefull

it is the search benefit I like about it.
and my final suggestion for a catagory is this due to recent
enlightening experiences.

[Noob]

I will vote yes as is without these suggestions but thought it might
be worth mentioning.

[Edit] of course stupidly I hadnt realized which forum I was posting on
I apoligize for looking a little silly but none the less I did vote yes
and think the extensions of the idea may be worth looking at.

Those thread tags are only for the Mods forum, the only place where a certain structure would actually be useful/helpful. This place will be buzzing, a wild mixture of technical discussions, mod requests, WIP mods and so on. We could theoretically introduce those and other tags in some of our others forums, but that would be an even bigger administrative nightmare.

Can you ask Neal to replace/or add to the 'Post Icon' option with these suggestions when creating a new thread?

One of the advantages of the thread tags is that we can search for the tags using the forum search, to find all released mods for example. We couldn´t do that if we would use the Post Icons instead.
