That's not really fair. Just because an order is charged before shipment, doesn't mean the product is sub-standard.

Some places aren't doing shipping the same way as Ubisoft.

Besides, "sub-standard" compared to what? We don't exactly have a ton of subsim options. lol

Let's face it; Ubisoft is just capitalizing on a fairly smart marketing strategy. They get everyone in a frenzy, limit or keep somewhat mum on information regarding the game, limit full blown reviews of the game, wait to open up forum boards, and coordinate release dates worldwide! I would not be surprised if we dont start seeing activity, i.e. reviews a day or two prior to the 20th. They get everybody worked up so that all they start thinking about is the game, and then the next thing you know pre-order sales start going up, and we all start rushing to Wal-Mart the day it hit's the shelves! I would have promoted the 'culprit' at UBI who got the shipping dates mixed-up.

It's about the buck, stupid!

I miss Dynamix!

I see it like that: Nobody forces you to pre-order at Ubishop, but if you do you have to accept their rules.
BTW: Just because UBI charges you before they deliver the game does not mean that SH4 will be 'sub-standard' and it does not make Ubi the bogeyman. So please stop that bitching and whing (at least until SH4 is released).

I kinda understand the 20th as realse date. Is that when they mail it to me. So while i'm kooling my heels waiting,Walmart or my local game store has it on the shelf the following morning????

ps. I only preordered the damn thing to get the deluxe edition or whatever it's called "it seems like there's about 6 different editions or names " I shoulda waited a month and got it for $29.99 like I did SH-3 at my local game store.

can I ask why you all freak out about ordering and stuff..

Actually let me just ask you all WHY you even pre-order a game when every single gamestop or EBGAMES will have plenty in stock, I bet walmart will have many of them on the 21st.

I would understand a pre-order for a popular game like the release of world of warcraft expansion..
But this game???

1) Oh, quite conversely, it's BECAUSE this is not a hyper-popular game and there's no guarantee that it will be in stores early enough. I made that mistake with SHIII, and spent a whole darn week being teased by others' screenshots of it. By comparison, it's the uber-popular titles that are pretty well guaranteed to be stocked.

2) This game is special. For us junkies

Week and a day. Remember, it SHIPS on the 20th, meaning you'll actually get it on the 21st with overnight shipping or if you pick it up in a store

Exactly.

In fact, out of the 3 EB Games/Gamestops in my area, 2 got it, and both got it in stock about 2-3 days after the release date.

It was then that I decided I would just pre-order the next the in the series. Besides, what's a few extra dollars for shipping for something that has the potential to entertain for countless hours.

Not that I don't believe you, but I am curious, are you really in KCMO? :hmm: If so, then I guess that relatively newer KMCI airport you guys have there is crap compared to the KDEN airport here where I live. Or does FedEx just have something against Misery, err... I mean Missouri.
I haven't changed my "location" since I moved 2 years ago. I'm now in very Southwest Misery. You know.. Jed Clampettville. I tried getting 2 day Fedex before on some hardware and the company sent me an e-mail saying it was just not possible and that I should choose a different one.

I'm so far out in the hills, the best I can get is UPS 3 day shipping. Not to mention the internet connection issue.

22nd for me

I ordered through our beloved subsim/amazon site with 2 day shipping, and my estimated delivery date is the 22nd. One week! Oh happy days! Gives me time to "gear up", kiss the wife and kids good bye, etc. Dive Dive Dive!

Ok, roger that man. Sorry to hear they won't cater a rush delivery to your neck of the woods.

In my case, I was bitching about charging me without shipping yet. Also, I must use either 3-5 day shipping since I can't get any faster at my house, but also, the closest EBGames is almost an hour drive away. The Wal-Marts which are about 30 minutes away don't get new stock in for 2 - 3 weeks after release, if ever.

This game is more popular in the minds of the series' fans than a WoW expansion too.
