Digital downloads are great for people living in countries that cannot buy the game at a store or get it delivered. And the limited download and activation thing isn't a problem. I have downloaded a few digital versions myself and can reinstall them on my computer as many times as I like. All you have to do is:

a) burn the install .exe onto a disk

b) install game

c) activate (register) the game online to be able to play it

d) run regedit and find the game directory plus the security activation code directory for that game (if the game required online activation)

e) right click on each of those directories and export them, then burn the registries to the same backup disk

f) each time you need to reinstall, just click on the registry files you saved and no online activation is necessary.

It's that simple. If you ever need to reinstall the game on your computer, you can do it unlimited times. You don't have to download it and activate it each time. And it's legal since you already purchased the game and only keep it on your computer.

I would personally rather buy the physical game with the manual, reference card, disk, etc. But this is also an option for those who can't.

I only get digital downloads from a companies that allow you unlimited redownloads and reinstalls like AGEOD's Birth of America game or Stardock's GalCiv 2. I assume ubi does not do this?

Default arrgh!

What I can't understand is UBI's shopping cart and user information.

It seems the company had different shops and carts.

I think that I have ordered the deluxe edition with the bells, and a d/l one, and one from amazon.

Everytime I log into UBI it tells me that I have ordered nothing, however, I have the emails telling me that I have.

UBI sure has charged my account.

Why can't this be as easy as amazon?????

.... and it seems that once your pre-order a digital download, there ain't no unordering something that you won't get for a few weeks.....

very very odd.

The problem with download games is when your down with them, you can't sell them. Not saying anyone would sell their SH4 but downloads save you no money and give you more hassles than anything else. Plus you wont get all the cool extra they talk about like a box, and a map that you never use. :hmm:

Thanks for this info! ... Sounds like a great solution to my "situation".
