How deep are you diving? and what mods are you using?

You may be able to get your sub down to a good 200 - 220 meters depth.. a bit of a gamble, just watch for the signs that she is not going to take it and get back up to about 150 Meters as quickly as you can.

These boats are either pinging or they are listening... not both at the same time in my experience, so try to rig the ship for silent running and set your knot meter to 1 knot, this will keep the engine RPM as low as possible without stopping the engines and your boat will make like a hole in the water.

aside from sneaking beneath a thermal layer, going deep, deploying decoys and staying quiet there really is not much to do about active sonar. sounds like your doing ok as long as your lungs draw air and not sea water.

When you hear the engines above you go to flank speed and splashes, come right about 45 degrees to a new heading and increase to flank speed but only for long enough to make the turn.

If your near a convoy, try to maneuver to a point beneath the convoy, this will give the DDs obstacles to steer around to get to you and will buy you time to get away.

aside from all that - just hang in there.

Good luck!
