Default Has anybody actually received a "Shipped" email?

Not the order confirmation email, but an actual "Your item has shipped" email. I haven't.

I'm thinking that nothing has actually shipped at all. If it has, I'll be really amazed.

Remember, these are the same folks that post "Release date: March 20" on their Official Forum, and "Release date: March 14th" on their website. lol

Am I being too negative?

That's been up since the 6th. though. The "My Orders" page at Ubisoft's shop says package shipped March 08. :hmm:

It's also possible that the email will not arrive until tommorrow. That's happened with a few places I've ordered from that use FedEx. The date in that post could be for the retail-store release. A friend of mine got a product from Ubi a few days earlier than the published date for the stores (can't remember the title though).

I wonder what's going on. lol

Its not totally unheard of, I have recieved pre-ordered games up to a week before the release date. I pre-ordered WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 from Play.com and got it well before it came out. I was impressed

Yeah. I've got some games early as well by pre-ordering.

I want to say it has shipped since it says "shipped". It doesn't seem reasonable for the "My Orders" page to be updated if there wasn't an update. lol

People who ordered with standard FedEx shipping would more than likely be receiving their copies right around Tuesday/Wednesday (3/13 and 3/14), which would play into the release date on the Ubi site perfectly.

I remember when SH2 came out right after 9/11 and people were bragging that they got their's at Best Buy before anyone got the pre-paid, pre-ordered game.

Since then Ubi makes sure their die-hard fans are treated to first shipments.

Makes marketing sense to me ...

after re-reading my e-mail without the very excited brain freeze, it does seem to be just a notification of "order confirmed". my credit card was charged though yesterday. order status on UBI does say shipped but i have a feeling that we in the US are still looking at another week.. we will see

My guess it that they will ship the pre-orders one week ahead of the retail release, which would probably mean they'll start shipping on Monday.

Thats what I'm thinking too, although I have received a game that I ordered,
before I ever received the tracking # email form the shipper.

Default How the shipping works

Just in case you are wondering...
What's happening, is Ubi is creating the labels to put on your packages.
As soon as they create the label to slap on your box, your credit card gets the "reserve-hold" put on it, and it creates an entry for billing in the Fed-X system. Ubi's order entry system sees the label being printed and automatically marks the item as shipping.

I would bet that Ubi will hold all the packages at least until Monday's pickup.
When the Fed-X truck arrives, he'll start scanning packages which assigns a tracking number. At that point, it is in the Fed-X system and your credit card can be charged.

I hope that's not the case, because if it is, the Ubi sales representative misinformed me. lol

For your sake Ark, as well as everyone else who's waiting, I hope I'm wrong! Gasp!

And thanks for the welcome Geetrue. I've been lurking here on SUBSIM for a while trying to decide if I want to purchase DW or SH4. Being a 688 class sailor makes me want a more modern sim, but this forum has just about convinced me to try SH4. That, and I'm from Vallejo CA. Used to watch 'em launch the boats on Mare Island when I was a little kid. That's probably what got me hooked on subs!

Default SH 4 shipping date

I purchased from Amazon. Com and they are estimating a 3/15 delivery date for SH 4. I really hope that is correct as it would give me four whole days to play befoe I go back to work. Hope all of us are playing soon.
