Lacking Abilities of the Type XXI

I noticed that when i plot my course from my uboat pen to my patrol grid my sub makes really wide turns? Im using the XXI and it only has one rudder, unlike the 2 rudders i saw with my beloved IXD2.

I dont know if i should go back to the IXD2??

I like having a deck gun so i can finish off ships or take out small ships.
But i like how the XXI has lots of room for torpedos and you dont need to get more from the external storage.
Hmmm but i also like how the IXD2 had Two tubes in the back incase a DD comes at me from the rear.
What do you guys think? Should i stay with the XXI or go back to the IXD2??

This is a no-brainer.

The XXI is almost immune to depth charges and it can conduct 100% submerged attacks due to its stunning underwater speed. It can attack with all 6 tubes at once. It can attack without periscope from 50m depth.

The IXD2 is slow underwater, slow to dive, does not always have a snorkel and can not attack convoys above 6knts without running the diesel motors.

Are you using the deck gun in 1945? That's crazy!

Hmmm some good points about the XXI.

And about using the Deck Gun in 1945, hmmm maybe thats why noone wants to go up on deck and shot the ships. About half my crew have been injured and i think about 10 guys r dead.

He must have had the IX in '45 before he switched to the XXI and he said:

"I like having a deck gun so i can finish off ships or take out small ships."

Thus I concluded that he was using the deck gun in '45. This was confirmed by his 2nd post in this topic.

Yeah before i got the XXI i had the IXD2 with the 105mm deckgun...it was awesome.
Of course in 1945 i only used it when it was a single ship, never a warship, maybe on a PT boat. By 1945 pretty much all merchants have deck guns, but they cant aim at all. Plus its embarrassing to be sunk my an armed merchant!!!!!

Is there a way to get a deck gun for the XXI??? Cause that would be awesome.
