There are much more U-Boats sunk in the Canal, the Biskay and the ports than in open sea War was really difficult for the U-Bootwaffe

I think the estemated life time of an U-Boat officer was the same as the expected life time on an inexperienced officer at the east front: ~3 weeks.

Kiel looks like it go hit hard too. You can't really see it, but I'm sure around the Gib was bad too.
