I wonder if below the equater the radar turns counterclockwise, you know like toilets!

It didn't do a full sweep, and it stopped when he turned to talk to his audience. I'm guessing (hoping) that he had it set to move manually and just ran it that way before stopping. They could be stopped and turned by hand-I think.
