I would if macs weren't so damn expensive. I tried building a decent PC (equivalent to what I would normally want) on the apple shop site, and came up with something close to 4000 euros.
And doesn't the fact that you still have to run windows on the mac to play games make the virus thing redundant, since it is then virus prone?

I may be incorrect here, but the research I did before buying the Mac led me to believe that the cost of a top-notch power Mac is very comparable to that of a top-notch PC from Dell, etc... It may be that folks with sufficient knowledge can build their own PCs for less. I haven't built my own for several years, and my knowledge in that department is probably outdated, so I didn't look at that option.

And yes, I still have to do all of the same "securing" of the windows side of my machine - pisses me off - which is why I wish I didn't even have to mess with windows. Maybe someday, but for now I still have to do that to use the PC software. The Mac side remains secure though. The cool thing is, it always works.

Best Regards,

Andrew

What did you spend on your Mac?

I wouldn't dream of buying some brand name package PC like a Dell, HP, or some other con. Overpriced and underpowered.

But I respect Macs for their quality.

I've been using Macs for years and really enjoy the experience. OS X is a truly fantastic OS to use (hey, who can argue Unix heritage?). I use my PC for gaming, and do everthing else on OS X. I'm actually pretty excited for WWDC '07 to roll around and see what new hardware Apple may release.

Haven't played SH3 on my Mac as I dislike the 4:3 1024x768 being stretched to a native 16:10 aspect ratio. Though I did have SB Pro PE (tank sim) installed on it at one point, and it ran quite well.

I think my Mac was about $4K. Very satisfied with it. Boot Camp is the Key - and it will be native and supported by Mac in the next version of Mac OS. It's beta right now, but works like a charm.

Andrew
