Different damage modelling does not lead to any problem. It only defines how a particular ship gets the damage and how it sinks.
It can lead to strange results if the torp damage has been tweaked to suit the different ship damage mods. no?

Yes thats all it will do
NYGM damage model will be totally diffeent to GWX one
Ships built using the stock damage are different to both

So nothing serious just different sinking behaviour to the rest of the mod you use

Hmm...
Anyone familiar enough with available ship models and their respective importance have the time to compile a list of those not included with GWX which would be favored for inclusion?
Not intending to hijack a thread, just thought this may be related to the discussion.
I've only added the QM and RF thus far.
Thanks in advance for any info!

ALL new ships that are relevant are considered for inclusion in GWX

90% of all merchants can go straight into GWX without any further work needed bar adding to the names.cfg

Of course they wont have the same damage models as GWX

Warships are trickier
Patrol boats and destroyers are normally ok to add as there are geniric entries in the campaign files so they will show ( as long as that country already had DD\Patrol boats )
You may find arnament problems as the eqp files may call for weapons not in the GWX guns dats

As with merchants they wont have the correct damage model nor any skins that are historically correct as all GWX ones are

Cruisers and above are a lot harder
There are generic entries for cruisers for Britain but no one else
There are a few generic entries for BBs too but not BCs

Not got time at the moment to trawl around looking at what ships have been released lately

The next update for GWX will include new units

Of course, BBW means "The next major update for GWX will include new units". For there will be one, if not two, smaller "fix-only" patches before then.
