Default A win for the US, and the world

Finally!
Nuclear disarmament deal reached with N. Korea

North Korea agrees to shut down its main nuclear reactor within 60 days
The country will receive an initial 50,000 tons of fuel oil or financial aid
It will receive another 950,000 tons for irreversibly disabling the reactor

Bit of a surprise, but very good news.

It's certainly a step in the right direction, and the best news in a while, maybe they've finally realised that their Typodonkeys can't hit the wide side of a barn.

Good work negociators!

The question is will this last? Good news for now but treat with caution.

I think that is the name (incorrect spelling intended I assume) of the North Korean missile that has been tested of recent. At least I think that is what Oberon was getting at.

Great news on the surface, but it's not finished yet. John Bolton says the deal is not much better than the one they had in 1994 that North Korea didn't keep, but it's better than letting them continue to stock pile more weapons grade material.

Here's a quote from USA Today:

Quote:
David Albright, head of the Institute for Science and International Security, a Washington think tank, said North Korea has produced enough plutonium for as many as 12 bombs. It tested a nuclear device for the first time in October

What about this dirty dozen?

Last time I checked, a nuke only needs to be in the general area to do its dirty work, so hitting the barn door is not needed. A few miles from the barn door will work just fine!

What if the barn door is made of steel and reinforced concrete?

Doesnt really matter, we are blowing up the barn here, not the door.

It might matter if it were buried 300 + feet below the surface of the Earth, but if that barn door is still on top - a few miles is still OK!
