The 65-76 torpedo is THE gold standard for ASuW weaponary. It's a wakehomer with a very long range (50nm @ 30kts, not currently modelled, but will be LWAMI 4.xx) and a massive warhead. One shot is more than enough to sink a Tico and two such torpedoes will sink a Nimitz (in game).
These weapons were originally unguided, and carried a nuclear warhead, the 65-73. To replace the 65cm that was in DW originally, the 53cm has been converted to the latest Russian wireguided torpedo, a 53cm torpedo called the UGST, which is roughly equivalent to the ADCAP. So the ASuW capability of the Akulas has been increased (realistically) by some margin, with some small sacrifice of ASW capability in terms of wireguided torpedoes. Cheers, David
