Default everything i worried about in SH4

seems to have been answered. Looks like they really did do it well and they even have gone into new areas that are very pleasing. Will miss the radio room though.
But with training torpedoes we will likey have a better more realistic sub school. One can only hope this game gets all the patches needed. I really love the wide range of Japanese ship types. Looks like it may be a modder's paradise. I am really happy about the map icons that will appear locating our mission targets. I added a few of those into my SH3 V-Mod. I was really happy to hear we will have a wider mission goal than just sinking ships - like pilot recues.

I was thinking about that too. It will be a major difference from all previous subsims to have training torpedoes and targets that don't sink. I wonder if for AA practice they'll have friendly planes towing targets behind?

I also agree about the special missions. One of the coolest parts of SH1 was watching bombers fly over and hit a target, and then get assigned to pick up several downed pilots. Of course they looked like little LEGO guys in their rafts, but SH4 promises to have really good-looking ones.

iirc 688I had a special warshot/training shot key, and training shots automatically veered away.

Ah. Well, it's my fault I've never played a modern sim. Just not interested.

It's looking very good indeed.

I wonder how big a role land units will get this time around. We've got commandos already, but I've not seen other infantry or tanks or APCs or the like. Be nice if there could be some ground combat.
