In my experience, merchant vessels very rarely turn upside down as they tend to go down aft first, but warships do that more often. I have seen it a few times

Another video of battleship capzising, the Szent István of Austro-Hungarian Navy during WWI. The camera is close enough that you can see me running on her deck as she turns over.
