I would like anything made by Aston Martin and a Gulfstream V for the longer trips.
Ever check out a Citation X? I've been on the X and it is the plane to have - much faster at Mach .93 and has a ceiling past 50,000 feet! It's about 1 hour faster coast to coast than a Gulfstream V.
Ahh, it may be much faster, but it won't get even close to the G-V's range. coast to coast it may be fast, but in the long run (literally), gulfstream wins by far. Why?:

say you had a race between a G-V and a Citation 10. You took off from Chicago Midway and had a destination of Hong Kong. You take off at the exact same time, (dangerous, i know)and the C-10 uses its speed to its advantage. Because of this, it has to stop for a 1 hour at Los Angeles-Whiteman for gas and porty-potty dump. G-V however, continues on. the C-10 takes off again, and out paces the G-V to stop in Honalulu for another hour of gas and dumping. G-V still continues on, though. Because of the range, the C-10 must fly slower than its cruising speed of Mch .93 to get at least a little fuel economy to make the long trip. this time, it can't catch the G-V because its well over the Western Pacific already, and the C-10 can't use its speed or it will run out of gas. The resault: The G-V will beat the C-10.

That's OK. I can have lunch in Monterey CA for 45 minutes, and then beat you to New York and having dinner before you arrive! :p

PS. At least I get to get out and stretch my legs, get some fuel, and take off again and still beat you wherever you are going.

PPS. I can laugh too when you get caught in weather and I fly over it!
