Try increasing your Windows Virtual Memory. Windows will use HDD space and use it like RAM.

Control Panel>System>Advanced>Performance Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory Change.

Then Reboot. (mine is around 4GB)

Try it, might work.

Once I am in the virtual memory change screen, what should I input where?

Initial Size = 1536
Max = 3052

Remember to hit SET, then OK, then apply blah blah etc. REBOOT.

@Red Menace,

Try defragging your HD and doing a disk cleanup... Sometimes doing basic stuff like that can help.

However, in the GWX manual we recommend 1 gb RAM... Plain old Stock SH3 runs a little rough with less than a gig.

Also, granted I'm not too familiar with Radeon video cards... but what I see is a 128mb card. 256mb should have been what they recommended... 256mb cards handle data bottlenecks better.

That being said, the graphics demand on your PC using GWX is LOWER than in GW 1.1a.

There are more graphics in GWX... but they've all been reduced to stock sizes and re-packed into .dat files wherever they could be to increase performance.

Load times are longer because we've put a lot of new units and campaign scripting in... but once the load-up is finished... performance appears to be better overall.

I'm not sure what else to add here.:hmm:

One of my computers have 512MB RAM, and it runs the game, so thats not it. May be a combo of bottlenecks, though.

HAHAHAHA I GOT IT WORKING!

Thanks to EVERYONE here who gave their 2 cents, if it wasn't for you guys responding so fast, I would've given up long ago.

Anyway, danlisa's virtual memory idea is what I think did the trick. Thanks, danlisa!

Again, thanks to everyone here who gave a damn.

Now, save up some money and get a second stick of 512 RAM. It will do wonders for the health of your computer and you
